Applying to Saga

Saga is a guild focused on endgame PVE. Our raiding core consists of a small, tight-knit group of players. This page explains the requirements and process for applying and becoming a member of Saga. We always try to keep our raiding core small, so we are very selective and only looking for excellent players capable of maintaining high raiding attendance. If you think you are this type of player, read on!

Our typical weekly raiding schedule resembles the following (All times are CST):

Monday: 7:00 - 11:00
Tuesday: 7:00 - 11:00
Wednesday: 7:00 - 11:00
Thursday: 7:00-11:00
Friday: OFF
Saturday: OFF
Sunday: 7:00 - 11:00

Please note that this schedule changes depending on the current raid content. We raid less when farming content and more when learning new content. Keep in mind that we do not raid more than 5 nights a week, or more than ~20 hours weekly. We pride ourselves in our ability to accomplish a lot during the hours we put in, and maintain a sane and manageable schedule. If you cannot make most if not all of our scheduled raids, perhaps you'd be better suited to a more casual guild. Our members are expected to maintain at least 85% raid attendance. Needless to say, applicants are expected to make the vast majority of our raids. DO NOT APPLY if you cannot commit this much time to raiding during your application process!

You must meet these basic requirements to apply to Saga:

1. You must have a level 80 Alliance character on Haomarush or be eligible for a server transfer.
2. You must be very active. You should be willing to run other instances, farm for yourself and assist the guild whenever possible.
3. Know what Ventrilo is and how to use it. Have a microphone. Speak and be able to understand English well.
4. Have a reliable internet connection and computer. You are no good to us if you constantly crash, lag out, or are a general hindrance to the guild due to your hardware/ISP crapping out.
5. You must be adequately equipped and prepared for high-end content. This means you must always bring whatever consumables your class needs to all raids, and have enough gold to repair at the repair bot.
6. Be able to take criticism well. Do not get overly defensive if someone calls you out on a mistake you make. Realize that personal performance is key for many encounters in this game, and we all make mistakes. Be able to learn from them and improve yourself, or don't waste our time. We are looking for quick learners and players who can adapt quickly to different situations. If you are not sure what to do for a certain boss fight, or for anything, do not hesitate to ask questions to Saga members! Better that you ask and learn, than wipe us and make yourself look bad - which can surely impact your application!

It is essential that you meet these requirements. Saga is looking for dedicated players so we can continue to grow and succeed in PVE. If you meet these requirements, apply and we'll inspect your application and get back to you.

The application process typically goes as follows:

1. Someone posts an application or PMs a filled-out application to a Saga Officer. Since we sometimes get a lot of applications, it could be a little while before we get back to you for an interview or simply close your app, based on our current class needs and the quality of your application.
2. Applicant will be contacted by a Saga officer through a forum PM to set up a Ventrilo interview with the officers and/or senior members of their class.
3. Application will either be accepted or rejected (if rejected your thread will be locked and eventually deleted).
4. If an applicant is accepted, you will then be invited to Saga as a trial member and raid with Saga for a period of 2-4 weeks.
5. A decision will be made on whether to invite you or reject your application to the guild between 2 and 4 weeks. You may be an applicant for what seems like a long time. Do not get anxious and start bugging officers about your status. We have not forgotten you. Some applicants just take longer to evaluate than others.

Please note we usually respond to applications through forum private messages and a response can take up to a week in some cases.
